My name is Cianán Byrne. I was born in Cork, right on the edge of Waterford, in the year of Our Lord 1356. I believe I was ten when the Statue of Kilkenny was enacted, which ultimately declared nearly every territory to the east of my homestead to be enemy land under English rule.
